@064644164 Probably black yes. If you have a chance you can try two areas- do one with white primer, the other with black and see if there’s a big difference-
but i wanted in DARK BLUE. so i should use black primer then blue paint?
@064644164 You don’t need to take it to bare metal. Follow the sanding steps and then you could use a light grey or white primer to get a lighter starting place since you want to make it dark but a little lighter than black. If you still want it really dark then use black primer then your black.
@juanjo12el Just a paper towel with water. Actually, many paper towels. Also after sanding I used an air hose to blast out dust from all the nooks and crannies. Do that first then wipe it down
@MechaBrittany Smooth surface, old junk is off, irregularities even. There’s a couple times you’ll be done- they’re stages. First to rough up surface and get top coat off, second after you’ve filled holes and pock marks, third after you’ve touched up any areas after priming. So there’s really 3 times when you could be done sanding for a particular point in the project
i got a honda CRX 89, its metallic black i think or satin black. i want to paint into dark blue, do i sand it down to BARE metal then put clear coat then paint it? let me know asap thanks
what did you wipe it with after sanding?
thanks
When do you know that you’re done sanding?
That stupid plastic thing that ford motor company thinks “looks cool” is actually used to prevent your doors from becoming dented when parking in a shopping center parking lot
Dam this guy must work at earl scheib lol
Goes back to the saying do it right or don’t do it at all. But if your car is already a junker might as well have some fun if your bored.
Your gonna dent your car if you take off moldings with a screwdriver. Use floss.
HELLA GAY
@sissillian1 Cool
I used Goo Gone first and sticky crap just peeled right off (I did use a straight razor, though). Also, my razor has a cute little yellow handle so I don’t hurt my sensitive fingers.
I love the crickets
haha u crack me up bro
My shop instructor told me almost exactly how you did yours.. the only difference is when i took the “sticky tape” left overs off i used a power tool with an eraser like tip and it worked like a charm.
Man you are funny as hell.’sticky tape from 1995′lol
