Crash Test: 2008 Smart Car ForTwo
Get more info on the Smartcar www.myride.com In recent Insurance Institute for Highway Safety tests, the 2008 Smart Fortwo, the smallest car for sale in the US market, earned the top rating of good for front and side crash protection. Its seat/head restraints earned the second highest rating of acceptable for protection against whiplash in rear impacts. Smart Fortwo is classified a microcar, meaning it's smaller even than minicars. Weighing about 1800 pounds, the Smart is more than 3 feet shorter and almost 700 pounds lighter than a Mini Cooper.

it’s like putting a midget up against kimbo slice. this car would get tanked through in a real-life head-on crash at 50mph, combined speed of 100+mph.
Yeah you’d be dead in one of these. I’ll stick to old V8 sedans!
i think my bicycle does a better job of protecting me in a crash
@hundanth that happened, it was a head on collision with a semi, the smarts body was riped right off the chasies
harder than i though
This car is a deathtrap, in the side impact test the crash car hit the dummy in the head, now imagine that as a big truck or suv
dead driver
I hate smart! greets from germany
bounce off the barrier and get killed by a truck on the other side
@RoboTussen lol i thought so too until i saw it on all other tests
@Jammanio Oh ok that makes sense lol
@RoboTussen no they’er imprint mark that the head leaves so they can see where the head hit
is it me, or did a piece of the dummy’s face come off on the steering wheel at 0:52 ?
Smack it with a semi
*Beep*
Onstar: This is Onstar emergency, what is your emergency?
You: Yeah, I just got in an accident and my asshole is touching the back of my head.
Onstar: You’re in a Smart Fortwo aren’t you?
You: Yeah.
na wie geil hab 3 brüste
the smart car was given a 3 star rating by the NHSTA meaning the car has a 21-35 percent chance of injury. In almost all test in speeds of 70+ there was a fatal crash test rating. So take it to the golf course or up the street but please stay off the highway
@MSEuropa crumple zones don’t work on a car that can barely fit 2 people in it.
@acidfire68594 basic physics and the concept of crumple zones haven’t come through to your neck of the woods right?
“Altho the dummies head hit the stearing wheel hard we think it did a good job”
so what your saying i can get head trauma… but dont wory the car protected you ok -_-
I think i stay with my 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
I don’t know about anyone else, but I definitely want to drive that car they used for the side impact, there was no damage on that thing at all.
well for a car this size it did pretty good…. but i would not want to get in a wreck with one..
Stop* not ATP
