And meanwhile, you’re busy tapping your fingertips on the steering wheel while listening to Cher’s latest hit “Gypsies, Tramps, and Thieves” as it comes crackling thru the AM airwaves. Oh!, and your wife? Well, she’s inside the filling station getting you that ice cold tall boy size can of Schlitz Beer you wanted.

Just for yuks, pretend its 1971 all over again & tell the dealer you’re looking for a car that comes equipped with “the works”. You know, like a passenger-side side mirror & rear defrost & carpeted flooring & a tilt steering wheel. Oh!, and a radio that comes equipped with FM tuning. Tell him you also want something in a nice two-tone paint job! And it must be rust-proofed & has a full-size spare tire in the trunk! And then tell him your wife insists that the car come with AC!

That’s such a beautiful car, when I look at this commercial & compare them to the new commercials I am disgusted that our country lost our pride in everything especially cars, now all dealerships want to do is steal customer’s money & give us these fiberglass pieces of shit. What ever happened to the fine automobiles with power, shapes & different style? I miss these old cars

Sadly, Oldsmobile was indeed ” a step ahead” in terms of automakers going El Foldo — did so back in the relatively go-go days at the turn of the 21st century.
“with a polution-fighting Rocket V8…” jeez, they came with a MINIMUM of a 350…THOSE WERE THE DAYS!!! Wish cars could be like that again.
That”s a bargain mate… The cheapest I found here in the NL was about 6.500.- Euros (Almost 10k dollars)… I am dead jalous.

The Cutlass Supreme roofline differs from 70-72 Cutlass S and 442. The Cutlass S and 442 have the same roofline as your Buick but the Cutlass Supreme has a roofline like the 70-72 Monte Carlo and Grand Prix. 2008ljr was saying Buick should have made a roofline like that. 73 was the first year of the Colonade. They were suppose to be in 72 but thankfully a GM strike delayed them.
What? I own a 1971 Skylark GS Stage1 4 speed, Buick built skylarks the same as olds on through 1973 on the same A body
Buick did have the convertible which came close, but no hard top.
Yeah strange how Buick didnt build one like that. The 69 Pontiac Grand Prix was the first of these and the Supreme and Monte Carlo followed in 70.
Buick was foolish not to have the 71 Skylark in a 2-door hardtop like the supreme. They did have it until 73 when the new model came out and it was a Regal.
He past away a couple of years ago.
