PAC VCI-LPB2 Rearview Backup Camera on AVIC-Z110BT

Here's a review/demo of the PAC Audio VCI-LPB2 Rearview Backup Camera. This is a rearview backup camera that's integrated into a license plate frame. The frame is made of stainless steel and is painted a glossy black. It is secured with 4 6mm bolts that need to be tightened from behind. The bolts are sit in a recessed cavity on the frame to prevent anyone from stealing it...unfortunately, it makes the installation a chore, depending on what kind of car you have. The video will cover: Overview of the features/specs, demo of it in daylight, and demo of it at night time. Here's the link to the product page on PAC Audio's website: www.pac-audio.com I think this is a really good solution for those who don't want to fabricate or alter their vehicle to accommodate a rearview camera. The camera is pretty inconspicuous and tt also functions really well too.

@ITSMIK3Y Sorry for late reply. Thank you for viewing and I’m glad it helped you out.
@Bomb29 I’m definitely biased towards Pioneer products, but you should have an open mind on what is best for you. I hear good things about the Kenwoods so you probably can’t go wrong. My Pioneer isn’t perfect, but it was still the best choice at the time.
@ConsumerFanatics Oh Sorry I meant PAC VCI-LPB2 not AVIC-Z110BT.
I’m debating between the AVIC-Z120BT or maybe the Kenwood DNX9960 which has built in Garmin Nav.I have read that the Nav in the AVIC-Z120BT Doesn’t list many streets and isn’t as good as Kenwoods.Have you had any problems with it?
But pretty much everything else the Pioneer is superior,I really like Pioneers interface it looks way better, faster and more user friendly.
@Bomb29 AVIC-Z110BT is the name of my receiver made by Pioneer, not camera. That being said, it looks like PAC has discontinued the VCI-LPB2 and replaced it with the VCI-ZSRVCB. I’m pretty sure you can only connect one camera, but I’ll ask my a/v pro. Maybe there’s a kit/switch that allows multi-camera/multi-view, but that would have to be a receiver capability.
Your link in the description brings me to the VCI-SRVCB page not the AVIC-Z110BT.
Is the VCI-ZSRVCB camera just as good as the AVIC-Z110BT and is it wireless like the AVIC-Z110BT? I noticed the VCI-ZSRVCB camera is built right into the License Plate Frame which is better since it is better concealed.
Also can you install more than one camera?
nice video help me with my choice man
@onetwotony If your Honda deck has an input for video, it should work, but I’m not familiar with Honda decks, sorry. Check with your local installer or dealer.
hi there nice instructions and reviews nice way you have it all set up! where can I get those review camera ? pls help. I cant afford the expensive pioneer screen but will it work with flip up decks for honda ? thanks.
@taker1292 If you don’t know how to do it, have a pro do it.
wow..nice video… But. How Did you installed the camera.. Do you have to connect wires under the cars or what…im buying one and i have no idea how to install it.
@numarkmixer1 Thanks bro. I did buy a kit. It was a Metra or Scosche.
Good Video Man, I have an unrelated question I want get the same head unit that you have and your install looks so clean. Did you have to buy a trim plate when you installed that? Or did i fit that perfectly into the stock opening? It looks great! I hate when I see a messy install, like when head units have gaps.
Please the person that has this exact same camera tell me where i can purchase it or supply me with a link to this same product. I bought the AVIC-Z110BT and i really like this camera because it is attached to the license plate frame, and it is not noticable.
i will be waiting for your response. thanks so much.

@scawta78 Thanks, eat me.
tight car, stupid video.
@LesKatalina Yes, just as the manual described. I’m not familiar with Kenwoods but nonetheless, I rarely use the side-by-side view. So, don’t feel too bad. It’s more of a thing to show to your friends LOL
@ConsumerFanatics Interesting. How did you wire this – is it simply as described in the manual? For my Kenwood DNX-9140, I can’t get it to work with PiP (same as side-by-side) unless I were to wire it to always be on unfortunately. As I don’t want to shorten the life of the camera I chose to remain featureless so to speak
.
@LesKatalina No, the side-by-side view tricks the camera to make it think the car is in reverse. At least in my theory, that’s how it works. The camera only shows up when I want it to.
To get this to work with the side-by-side (map), did you have to wire this into your keyed power so the camera is always “ON” (on, but doesn’t show up when you’re on other screens). Such as when booting up your in-dash nav, the camera will show up for a split second even while not in reverse?
@KNAHSuperman Thanks for watching. Yes, the camera is secured through the back to make it theft-deterrent. Good luck with the install!
Yeah that is what I meant. I was just confused about how the license plate was placed/installed.
Also, thank you for the video. It helped me purchase this product. I bought the VCI-SRVCC (chrome), and just got it in today. I’ll install it tomorrow.
@KNAHSuperman I’m not sure I understand your question. Do you mean if you already have the camera installed and you want to get a new license plate, would it be difficult to do? It really depends on your patience and skill and what type of car you have. My car is a little difficult because the space in the hatch is hard to get into due to the access holes not directly over the holes. Either way, it’s not super difficult, just a little elbow grease is needed.
If i were to get a new license plate, would it be easy to get to it, or do I literally have to remove the bolts.. .maybe a stupid question but just wondering…
Even when it’s booting up, the camera will come up right away.
Thanks for the video, just what I was looking for. I saw from the video that the backup camera came up on the screen right away when putting the car in reverse, but that was with the system already booted up.
How long does it take from the time you start your car (is there a boot up time before the camera will work?
